Dr. Mavis Owureku-Asare is making ground-breaking strides in food science and agriculture, with a prime focus in empowering smallholder farmers, especially women. Her research on solar dehydration for preserving tomatoes plays a huge role in Ghana’s revolutionary post-harvest management. As a principal research scientist at the Ghana Atomic Energy Commission, Dr. Owureku-Asare is dedicated to finding practical solutions to improve food security.
Her work enhances agricultural technology but more importantly, she is significantly improving the livelihoods of women in rural areas, proving that science and innovation can actually drive social change.
