Shirley Tony Kum, is a public relations practitioner with over 17 years of experience in communications across various sectors, that includes media, petroleum, and mining. Her journey has steadily advanced through various positions ultimately gaining her current role at Vivo Energy Ghana, where she has been an instrument in the formation of corporate communications function from scratch.
Shirley’s proficiency encompasses sustainability, stakeholder management and crisis communication, all of which have earned her multiple local and international accolades. Her work at Vivo Energy has seen her introduce many impactful community development programs that adjust with the company’s vision of becoming a respected brand in the energy sector.
Shirley has actively contributed to the growth and development of the communications sector in Ghana alongside her professional achievements, serving as a member of the Governing Council of the African University College of Communications and Honorary Secretary of the Institute of Public Relations.
Shirley’s awards include being crowned the PR Discovery of the Year and recognition as one of the top PR Women in Ghana. Her dedication to mentoring the next generation of public relations professionals reflects her commitment to fostering talent in the industry.
